Franchise Owner -Stroller Strides/Body Back Certified/AFAA Certified Personal Trainer/FIT4MOM Certified Running Coach

I am a proud military wife and mother to Camden and Caylee. When I joined Stroller Strides I fell in love with the program. I would come home after my workouts and feel great, proud that slowly I was beginning to feel like me again and happy that my daughter loved it too. It allowed me to get a great workout and meet a great group of moms. Having no family nearby and a husband who traveled, I needed to find something and I found so much more then I expected.

When a fellow mom, who doesn't often get a break herself, will hold your fussy baby just so you can sweat out your emotions, you know you have found your tribe.
I am a crazy mother of two beautiful, forever-smiling ladies, Lia & Grace. My husband Peter & I met at Springfield College, in Springfield, MA more than a decade ago. We moved from RI in 2014 after his job brought us here & I became a SAHM.
Stroller strides has been an extremely important time in my life, & my children's lives ever since I joined. I've been positively affected by members & instructors, new & old. I will never forget what this village has done & continues to do for me. I want more than anything to do the same for other moms!
My fitness background was minimal participation in high school sports, & always receiving the sportsmanship award (Go team!) After college, I taught several varieties of chair-based fitness classes to seniors for seven years. That's as far as my experience with the fitness world has traveled.
But I have something just as important. The enthusiasm! The memory of what it felt like to be welcomed with open arms after feeling so alone. Stroller Strides literally opened my eyes to a better me, a better mother, & a better wife.

I was born and raised here in VA beach and I'm a stay at home mom to my beautiful daughter Everly (1). A good friend of mine had asked me to join her for a Stroller Strides class about a year ago. I was completely terrified, but the instructor (Molly Vaughn) was welcoming and made my daughter and I feel like part of the tribe by the time warm ups were done. This was something that I really needed as a first time mama and within the first week I became addicted. Within the first month I knew I wanted to be involved in someway.

This village has helped me come out of my shell and grow as a person inside and out. The love and strength from all the Mama’s is extremely refreshing, really let’s you know that you're not alone on this journey of motherhood. Everly and I are forever grateful for the friendships that we have made and continue to make along the way.

I am from Northern Virginia and have a background in performing arts and nonprofit administration. My husband's job took us to Gaithersburg, MD when I was 36 weeks pregnant with my first son so it was the perfect time to transition into being a stay-at-home mom. Living in a new town with a newborn was very isolating, especially when I dealing with a colicky baby at home by myself. My friend recommended I look to see if there were any stroller strides classes in my area so I could get out and about with my son in a baby-friendly environment. I remember being so nervous about going to my first class... what if I wasn't fit enough to keep up? What if my son started crying and disrupts the class? What if I needed to feed him in the middle of class? Luckily, I faced my fears and ended up finding a wonderful community of welcoming moms, instructors, and kiddos.

When we found out my husband's job was bringing us to Virginia Beach, I immediately started looking up Fit4Mom classes in the area so I could find a new community for my children and I to be apart of. At this point, I have participated in Stroller Strides, Body Back, and Run Club programs and am a huge advocate of all of them, no matter what your fitness goals. I am so proud (and surprised!) at what my body is capable of even after having kids. I never thought it would be possible to be the strongest I have ever been in my life in my thirties.

NASM Certified Personal Trainer, TRX Instructor, AFAA Group Fitness, AFAA Yoga, Schwinn Indoor Cycling, and the Navy Operational Fitness and Fueling Series (NOFFS), Stroller Strides

As a fitness professional and soon-to-be mother, I believe that fitness is a lifestyle, not a hobby. I set high, achievable goals for myself and my clients and work hard to reach them. Throughout my career in fitness, I have worked with many different types of people from student athletes, to senior citizens, to our active duty military.
I began my career in 2004 as an NASM Certified Personal Trainer working with a corporate club.
In 2010 I moved to US Navy Station Rota Spain and took on the position of Fitness Specialist at the gym on base. I worked with our military personnel, helping them reach their bi-annual physical readiness and body fat test standards as well as preparing them for the physical demands of deployment, down range and elsewhere. During that time I got my certification as a group fitness instructor and went from my background of small group training to leading groups of up to 200 service members.
Now, as a mother-to-be, my goal is to motivate and inspire other mothers to lead healthy lifestyles and be good role models for our children through fitness. I discovered Stroller Strides and found that it provides the perfect environment of fitness education and motivation for mothers of all fitness levels and backgrounds. The support and camaraderie in this fitness family is exactly what I was looking for as I continue my own journey into motherhood.

I am a Navy wife and a proud mother of two, Zoey (14) and Kye (11). I first learned about Stroller Strides 14 years ago in San Diego, Stroller Strides was a brand new workout for moms and I was hooked after my first class. By the time we moved in 2005, Stroller Strides had grown nationally and there was a new franchise here in Virginia Beach. It was then I decided to get certified to become a Stroller Strides instructor and I LOVED IT!! My children eventually grew out of the stroller so I became an AFAA group fitness instructor and taught at the local YMCA for many years. I taught several different classes including kids fitness, senior fitness, weights, bootcamp and beach bootcamp. After taking several years off, I'm super excited to make a return to teaching fitness as a Body Back instructor.

I grew up in Va Beach, Va and met my handsome Navy pilot husband while attending UVA. (Wahoowah!) In January of 2013, I gave birth to our daughter Annie and decided to stop teaching middle school history and stay at home. We moved to Hawaii when Annie was 4 months old, and my husband deployed a month later. I desperately craved a community to belong to and had been told about Stroller Strides by a family friend. I had no idea what it entailed, but it at least got us out of the house!

At our first class, Annie screamed for the entire 30 minutes that we attended, but I was addicted to this thing called Stroller Strides! Moms were there encouraging each other, discussing common concerns, loving on babies and working out! I had found MY PEOPLE! I became an instructor 3 months later and have loved every moment of being part of this amazing movement! Fit4Mom has given me a chance to challenge myself, connect with other mommies, support and love them through the trials of motherhood, and in return, I have felt that love ten fold! Any mommy who is missing her people, we are here! Come join the movement!more

ACSM Personal Trainer, AFPA Prenatal/Postnatal Exercise Specialist, AFPA Group Exercise Instructor, FIT4MOM Certified Running Coach, Stroller Strides Certified

Fitness and exercise have always been big parts of my life. I am an avid distance runner, soccer player and former gymnast. After earning my Bachelors in Health from the University of New Orleans, I worked with postoperative athletes in orthopedic physical therapy. I also did one-on-one personal training and taught small group strengthening exercise classes. In April 2015, I proudly added “Mom” to my resume!

Being new to Virginia, I was overwhelmed with the idea of having a newborn in a new place with no friends or family. I attended my first Stroller Strides class when I was eight months pregnant. I was immediately impressed with the community and I knew it would be a great fit for me and my son, Colin. I began attending classes regularly after Colin was born. Becoming a Stroller Strides Instructor helps me combine two of the most important things in my life – motherhood and fitness. Having focused much of my training education on Prenatal and Postnatal Exercise, I’m honored and excited to help other moms reach their fitness goals while having fun and spending time with their children.

I served in the US Navy for 8 years flying in the F/A-18F Super Hornet. What an incredible adventure! After separating from the Navy and getting married to a handsome fighter pilot, I had time to pursue other interests. I completed several half marathons and attended Barre, Power Conditioning and TRX classes daily. I became A.C.E. certified knowing my passion for fitness would make for an exciting second career.

Shortly after moving to Virginia Beach, we were thrilled to find out we were expecting just as my husband prepared for deployment. I knew I wanted to get back into my fitness routine but didn’t want to put my precious little baby, Ella, in daycare. That’s when I found Stroller Strides and never looked back! Stroller Strides is much more than an excellent workout. It’s a positive way for Ella and I to start each day and spend time with AMAZING mothers and their kiddos. They have become my friends, my cheerleaders, my counselors in all things “baby” and my shoulders to lean on. I’m proud to be part of this Village and look forward to each and every class.

I am so excited to join the team as a Stroller Strides instructor and help other women on their fitness and motherhood journey!
